In 1964, the Sutter-Yuba Farm Workers Health Project was started to provide medical care to migrant and seasonal farmworkers under the State Farm Workers Health Service and Migrant Health Act Fund. The seeds plated by the project, which operated as a night clinic at the Sutter County (CA) General Hospital, blossomed and in 1973 the program was incorporated as the non-profit Northern Sacramento Valley Rural Health Project, Inc, which became the mgrant health funds grantee.
Now known as Ampla Health (Yuba City, CA) after decades of service and growth this large healthcare network provides care to many different communities throughout Northern California. Ampla Health provides comprehensive primary and specialty medical, dental, and behavioral health services across 6 counties. Its 14 medical and 6 dental health centers now serve communities across Northern California regardless of socioeconomic status, job status, or ability to pay.
